Triangle 4th of July Celebrations Feature Fireworks, Kids Activities

Many Triangle towns will usher in the July Fourth holiday with plenty of family-centered festivities. Celebrate our nation's pride and independence with patriotic performances, bike parades, games, contests and more. Be sure to check with event organizers before heading to an event since plans may change due to weather or other conditions.
 


July 3

 

Fuquay-Varina Independence Day Celebration – Enjoy a diverse group of food vendors, live music by Spare Change at 7 p.m., kids' activities and a fireworks display at sundown. Gates open at 6 p.m. South Park, 900 S. Main St., Fuquay-Varina. fuquay-varina.org.

Town of Garner's Independence Day Celebration – Celebrate our nation's independence with inflatable games and food from 5-8 p.m. The SOULPLAY Band and the North Carolina Symphony deliver musical entertainment. Apex Olde Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration – Celebrate the nation's birthday with carnival games, a climbing wall and cake walk, street performers and more. Durham's July Fourth Celebration – Take the family for a baseball game and fireworks. Enjoy a Durham Bulls baseball game at 6:05 p.m. (tickets required). Joel Lane Museum House Old-Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration – Enjoy an Independence Day open house. Costumed docents and re-enactors demonstrate various aspects of colonial life. July Fourth Celebration at Booth Amphitheatre – Celebrate America's birthday with a scavenger hunt, watermelon-eating contest, model boat regatta and a Ferris Wheel, which offers a stunning view of Symphony Lake. Beginning at 5:45 p.m., the Cary Town Band and the North Carolina Symphony deliver patriotic music on the main stage. Wake Forest Fourth of July Children's Parade – Kids ride on a bike or in a wagon for a walking parade. (Helmets required for cyclists.) The parade begins at 10:30 a.m. (line up at 10 a.m.) on N. Smithfield July Fourth Celebration –
Celebrate the birth of America with fireworks, musical entertainment from The Backyard Groove, concessions and games for the kids. Downtown Smithfield, S.
