Pirates Go Symphonic!
Immerse yourself in creative musical adventure and come dressed as an ocean-going pirate. Gates open at 5 p.m. and the music starts at 7:30 p.m. Your kids can try out the orchestra's instruments at the Petting Zoo from 5-7:30 p.m. in the Koka Booth Amphitheatre's cobblestone courtyard. Families will also enjoy a fireworks display after the concert.
Don't forget a picnic basket packed with your favorite treats so you can participate in the Picnic of the Week contest. Wine and beer are also allowed. Concessions and catering are available on site as well.
Pirates! is part of the 2011 Summerfest, an outdoor celebration of music organized by the North Carolina Symphony and hosted at Koka Booth Amphitheatre. The concerts offered by the North Carolina Symphony are different each season, and typical attendance each year is 5,000 - 7,000 people.
Koka Booth Amphitheatre is located at 8003 Regency Pkwy., just off the intersection of U.S. Hwy. 1 and U.S. Hwy. 64/Tryon Road, in Cary.
