Three chapters of National Charity League, Inc., including Carolina Lily, Cardinal and Dogwood, joined forces to host a food drive Oct. 16 to support four local philanthropy partners: Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, Raleigh Rescue Mission, Ronald McDonald House and Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC.
More than 180 mothers and daughters in the chapters planned their first-ever joint philanthropy effort to collect, sort and package nonperishable foods, along with hygiene and cleaning supplies, for people in need. More than 120 boxes were delivered to the four organizations, with ready-to-eat foods and supplies going directly to Hurricane Matthew victims through the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC and the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle.
