More than 150 Triangle-area girls took part in the fourth annual Live Fearless Soccer Clinic hosted by BlueCross BlueShield NC on Oct. 8 at Chapel Hill’s Cedar Falls Park. Olympic gold medalists and Women’s World Cup Champions Mia Hamm, Kristine Lilly and Tisha Venturini Hoch, all of whom hail from the Tar Heel State, taught the young players soccer skills and encouraged them to forge positive relationships and confidently pursue athletic endeavors. The participants, who were hand-selected for the clinic based on their outstanding sportsmanship, enjoyed soccer training and breakout sessions, and also received a T-shirt, soccer ball, autographed card and group photo.
“The Live Fearless Soccer Clinic is a highlight for Team First Soccer Academy every year,” says Hamm, a BlueCross BlueShield NC Live Fearless ambassador. “It’s a pleasure to teach the next generation of athletes to face challenges with bravery and fearlessly pursue their goals.” Learn more at teamfirstsocceracademy.com.
