The Junior League of Raleigh and Brentwood Boys and Girls Club hosted a Kids in the Kitchen event April 13. Kids in the Kitchen is a national initiative that empowers youth to make healthy lifestyle choices and helps reverse the growth of childhood obesity and related health issues.
During the event, children gained hands-on experience as they prepared healthy meals and snacks that follow the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s “My Plate” curriculum. Attendees also participated in games and exercises that emphasize the importance of building a healthy lifestyle.
