Ready for some mid-week fun that can make a difference? Take your kids to “Bob’s Buddies Skate,” a special event at the Ipreo Ice Rink in downtown Raleigh’s City Plaza starting at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, in support of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation..
Local radio celebrity Bob Dumas will host the event, which will feature music and giveaways. In 2007, after being diagnosed with a tumor, Dumas started the Bob’s Buddies program to support the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. A worldwide organization, the foundation funds childhood brain tumor research, serves more than 28,000 children living with a brain tumor and provides education and resources to their families. If you head out to the Ipreo rink on Jan. 27, 25 percent of all proceeds will be donated to the foundation. It's a great way to show your children that everyday choices can help others going through rough times.
