This past August, students ages 13-18 became eligible to get GoTriangle's new Youth GoPass that allows them to ride GoTriangle, GoRaleigh, GoCary and GoDurham buses for free.
This program will make getting to jobs, school and social activities easier for teens without having to depend on caregivers for transportation. GoTriangle also hopes that this program will instill a lifelong appreciation of public transit and teach independence to area teens.
To apply for the Youth GoPass, visit GoTriangle.org to print the application. Teens can bring the completed application with a copy of their birth certificate, valid school ID, driver’s license or other government-issued ID to prove their age to an approved Youth GoPass pick-up location. A full list of locations is available at gotriangle.org/locations and includes Raleigh Community Centers, Durham Recreation Centers, transit agencies, Wake, Durham and Orange County Public Libraries, and more.
