Genealogy Conference Offers Sessions and Extended Research Hours

Family historians and genealogists will head to the Raleigh Convention Center for the National Genealogical Society conference May 10-13. The conference will feature more than 175 sessions to help attendees sharpen their family history skills. Registration is available at conference.ngsgenealogy.org.
The North Carolina Government and Heritage Library offers an extensive collection of published materials, including family histories and county, state and federal records. The State Archives of North Carolina holds county records related to bonds, courts, land, marriage, wills and estates, and taxes. Both buildings will offer extended hours May 8-13 for attendees to take advantage of their services Monday-Wednesday, 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; Thursdsay, 8 a.m.-9 p.m.; Friday, 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Both are located at 109 E.
