This week offers tons of fun for kids in the Triangle. Learn about what goes on underground to make soil at Sarah P. Duke Gardens in Durham, enjoy Minecraft activities at the Northeast Regional Library in Raleigh, explore creativity at a crafting session for preschoolers at Southwest Regional Library in Durham, and make candy sushi at Eva Perry Library in Apex.
Naturalist Class: Life Underground
Your child can join in this small group setting and dig into the dirt to uncover the complex communities living below. They’ll wiggle with worms, tunnel with moles, and connect with roots and mycelia to learn how these living things help create soil. This informative program takes place at the Doris Duke Center at Sarah P. Duke Gardens in Durham. One class is available for kids ages 5-6 Feb. 26 , 10:30-11:30 a.m., and another more in-depth class for ages 7-9, 10:30 a.m.-noon. The fee is $7 per class for members and $10 per class for others. A parking pass is included with advance registration.

Kids in grades 3-5 read, create, learn through books, activities and more during this series. Discover another side of the world of Minecraft with crafts and games to improve your skills. No devices are required, but registration is. This free event takes place Feb. 27, 4:30-5:30, at the Northeast Regional Library in Raleigh.

Morning Craft Time FREE
Join staff at the Southwest Regional Library in Durham for some fun and exciting craft time with your 3-5 year old child. All supplies are provided, so all you need to bring is some creativity. The session takes place Feb. 28, 11:15-11:45 a.m. Preregister here.
