Another beautiful weekend is on the way — and your family can make the most of it by participating in the 20th annual Great Backyard Bird Count, Friday, Feb.17-Monday, Feb. 20. Participants around the country tally the numbers and kinds of birds they see for at least 15 minutes on one or more days between Feb. 17-20. It’s a fun activity for families that also supports organizations that monitor wild bird populations. Learn more about how it works here.

If you’re looking for an organized birding or bird-themed event, Wake County Parks & Recreation has scheduled the following activities. Some programs require preregistration; visit the county’s website for additional information.
