Day 9 — The Arcade
Creating kindness — and excitement — by preloading machines

Today was a very busy day around here. For my act of kindness I wanted to find something simple, quick and most important, fun to do. I thought about it for quite a while as I was driving around running errands this evening.
For some reason my thoughts drifted to when my son was little and I used to take him to Chuck E. Cheese. He would always get very excited if he found a machine that had tickets hanging out of it, or was already preloaded and ready to play. I wanted to create a little bit of that same excitement today with this task. Decision made, it was time to spread some kindness in the arcade.
We found a nearby arcade and preloaded all of the skeeball machines they had with money. This way whoever came up to them next would get to play for free. While we were at it we preloaded a few other machines as well. After all, not everyone likes skeeball!
It was a good reminder for me that kindness doesn't always have to take a lot of time or be serious in nature. When you start looking for ways to help you uncover a lot of the pain in the world. While I do believe it is important to help in those situations, it's also valuable to simply spread some fun. I hope whoever found those skeeball machines had a great time!
