Romare Bearden was born in Charlotte, NC and drew national acclaim with his art that combined personal memories, African American cultural history, and everyday experiences. Learn how jazz music and the art of improvisation inspired his work and create your own collage. Afterwards, you can enjoy the sounds of the Raleigh Jazz Orchestra in the park. Both events are free and open to all ages.
