This week in the Triangle, hear a story and stay for an optional craft at SnickerDoodles in Raleigh, watch a creative show combining science and storytelling at the MakerLab @ Northgate in Durham, introduce your preschooler to music at a program at Knightdale’s East Regional Library and hear a story at the North Carolina Museum of History in Raleigh.
Enjoy storytime Aug. 6, 11 a.m.-noon, at SnickerDoodles in Raleigh. You’ll hear “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” and have the chance to stay for the optional staff-led craft in their Messy Art Studio for a $5 studio fee. No preregistration is necessary.

All ages will love this show at Durham’s MakerLab @ Northgate, set for Aug. 7, 1-2 p.m. You’ll visit a land where science and storytelling collide — where pumpkins are prisons, wolves sneeze down houses, dragons are ice cold and science tells the rest of the story. No registration is necessary for this free program.

Meet North Carolina Symphony violinist David Kilbride Aug. 8, 7-8 p.m., at the East Regional Library in Knightdale. Geared toward kids ages 3-5 and their caregivers, this program will feature age-appropriate musical instruction and demonstrations. No preregistration is necessary.
