Boredom Busters for July 10-13
Kids ages 3-5 can enjoy a history-related story in the gallery of the North Carolina Museum of History July 13.

Keep boredom at bay with a full slate of activities, including a parent-child art class, storytimes and fun with robots.
Using slab construction, parent/child teams will build their own gnome or fairy house, then use colored slips and stamps to decorate it. This class is offered in two sessions, 10-11:30 a.m. and 4-5:30 p.m., Monday, July 10, at the Durham Arts Council’s Clay Studio at Northgate Mall in Durham. Pre-registration ($15 per child) is required.

Enjoy a performance featuring interactive storytelling, African dance demonstrations and traditional African songs and rhythms with April Turner. This program is offered in two sessions, 2-2:45 p.m. and 4-4:45 p.m., Wednesday, July 12, at the Chapel Hill Public Library. Free. Recommended for ages 4 and older.

Meet a staff member at the information desk to visit one of the museum galleries, have a look around and listen to a history-related story. This program takes place 10-10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 13 (and every Thursday), at the North Carolina Museum of History in downtown Raleigh. Ages 3-5 with adult. Free.
Explore the world of Ozobot Robots in this fun hands-on program, which takes place 4-5 p.m., Thursday, July 13, at the Orange County Library in Hillsborough. For rising fourth- through sixth-graders. Call 919-245-2532 or stop by to register. Free.
